321 Stainless Steel Sheet & Plate
Cold rolled and hot rolled 321 stainless steel sheets and plates available from stock. This stabilized austenitic stainless steel offers excellent high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance.
Material Characteristics
Grades 321 and 347 are basic austenitic 18/8 steel (Grade 304) stabilized by Titanium (321) or Niobium (347) additions. These grades resist intergranular corrosion after heating within the carbide precipitation range of 425-850°C.
Grade 321 is ideal for applications up to 900°C, combining high strength, scaling resistance, phase stability, and subsequent aqueous corrosion resistance.
Grade 321H features higher carbon content for improved high-temperature strength. Note that 321 is not recommended as a welding consumable; grade 347 is preferred for welding applications.
